Indoors
Water from tubs, toilets and taps inside homes travels through pipes to a sanitary sewer pipe where it is treated at the sanitation facility and then discharged into the Bay. Learn how to properly dispose of the following items to prevent water pollution:

Water the enters our City storm drain system flows untreated into the nearest creek and ultimately to the San Francisco Bay. Stormwater runoff, in the form of rain or irrigation water, collects pollutants by flowing over sidewalks, curbs and landscaping. Proper disposal or maintenance of the following item can keep outdoor pollutants from entering the storm drain system:
